Losing my mind!
Excited to be playing one of the lead roles in the gritty feature film 'Losing Innocence' written and directed by Mathew R. Ford. We've been filming now since November and it's all going well. Been really good to work with excellent actors and a fantastic crew. I've been taking production photos, as have others involved... Oh, and there's a little teaser trailer too!

I, Mack...
Yes, on a fantastic play on words for this article's headline, I play Mack. He's a man of many mysteries so I won't spoil them just in case you see the two hour long episodes. This is a sci-fi thriller directed by Alex Skerratt who also writes for The Sooty Show. Does it get better than this? Probably, but check out the production photos anyway!

I'm on Trial!
I'm in a play! Yes, after more than 20 films in two years, I'm treading the boards again in Franz Kafka's 'The Trial'. For those that don't know, 'The Trial' is based on his novel first published in 1925 - a year after he died! According to the blurb on the back of the 1981 Penguin paperback edition (thanks Wendy for lending it to me!): ''The Trial' relates the perplexing experiences of a man ostensibly arrested on a charge which is never specified, but within a pattern of the complicated narrative Kafka is trying to elucidate some of the fundamental dilemmas of human life'. Nice one Penguin!
It's a modern classic and has probably influenced Terry Gilliam's 'Brazil' and George Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four'. Oh, yes and the films 'The Trial' directed by Orson Wells, and Harold Pinter scripted version 'The Trial' directed by David Jones.
I play Willem the nasty warder, Bertold the nasty law student, Bank Manager - pompous (and a little bit nasty), and the Executioner - certainly nasty.
It's on at the Iambic Arts Theatre in Brighton from the 12th to the 17th of July 2011 and if you'd like to see me in my many guises on stage click here for tickets. Get them now - they're hot! Meaning they're good not stolen...

Disaster strikes!
Something's gone wrong in the world. Millions dead, only a handful survive. I play Matthew Tyler who has lost his wife and daughter. Is he fooling himself that he will ever see them again? Shot in one day, this role was very involved and hopefully would be a realistic portrayal of what happens when a person's life is turned upside down.

To tell or not to tell?
Is it worth keeping 'mum' when trying but failing for a baby? This is the dilemma facing Celia (played by Miranda Magee) when her husband Robert (played by me) thinks all is rosy in his world. A tough little film that was very moving to play.

Who wants to be a game show host?
In this excellent short film, I play Jonny Bernanke, the ultimate game show host. Nothing too cheesy, nothing too over the top for this presenter of the futuristic game show 'Kill for Cash!' in writer and director Toby Dale's 'The Fantastic Journeys of Henry Hawke. I had lots of fun with this role.
Enjoy the photos...
Down wid da kidz.
Yep, one to always keep up with the latest goings ons in world of the youth, I've been cast as a youth worker. Just a small scene in a feature film called Brick City, my character is the voice of reason. Hopefully I'm cool too!
Lead role in Conscience short.
Filmed over the Halloween weekend (2010) in Ealing Studios in London, this short film is about a guy who chooses to be positive in life but when he's world is shattered, can Michael keep so happy? Thanks to all involved. I had a good time, especially the shooting, hospital and dining room scenes. Will post the finished film when I get it. Meanwhile, I've added production photos:

Lead role in feature film.
Yes, after 18 film projects, I've been offered the lead role in a British feature film called '39 Years'. I play Robert, a 39 year old man who's life seems to have ground to a holt. He is deeply depressed. The film, written and directed by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, is due to start filming mid-September 2010 in Wales. Co-starring Kim Baker as Amy, Robert's wife, and Brennan Price as Jack, Robert's son, the film follows how each member of the family cope with thier own reality. As usual I'll be taking lots of behind the scenes photos so check out the Acting section for this addition at the end of September.
Welcome to my new website!
Hello one and all to my brand new website! This is a showcase for my acting, writing and other stuff I do. After my 14 year old computer died half-way through construction, nothing was going to stop me finishing. With a new computer, loads of images, some films I've been in and lots of other stuff, it's now complete for you to browse and enjoy. So go ahead, browse and enjoy!
Site Under Construction
My computer is playing up! Keeps rebooting itself without any warning and freezes all the time. So work on this site will be delayed for a while until I sort it out. Better news is more progress has been made. The new right hand menu buttons 'Be a fan', 'Art, 'Music, 'Blog' have been added (yet to be linked), plus a beautiful slick slidey right hand menu is working (yet to be linked) and will link to various 'latest' things of mine.
I'll be spending my time acting (hopefully - another audition soon), writing (working on a feature film script) and trying to sort out my PC!
Progress
A massive thank you to Steve Anderson of Starlight Theatre School for helping me knock my website into shape. We spent a day getting the basics of the home page sorted. Also a massive thank you to Bob, the moderator of the forums of Yootheme, who fixed my 'spotlight' effect you can see on the left hand menu picture buttons. Lovely roll over spotlight effect! Now trying to sort out the 'slider - drawer' menu on the right hand side. This is slow progress but progress none-the-less!
New Website
Thought it was about time to revamp my website to showcase my acting. Stick with me as I'm creating this live from a Joomla template. This is already proving to be a painful and slow process but it should be worth it! I'm hoping to have all sorts of things going on here such as film clips of the films I've acted in, stills photos, news of productions, maybe a blog, plus lots more. Nothing ventured nothing gained... |
